The Crowley Chamber of Commerce has announced that Mrs. Margaret L. ‘Peggy’ Sandidge has been named Crowley’s Humanitarian of the Year for 2014.
The Acadia Parish School Board’s Personnel/Insurance/Curriculum Committee meeting heard several reports that were transferred to the full board when it met Wednesday evening.

Rotarians learn of Cleco’s community involvement

Crowley police arrest 2; fugitive caught in Texas

During a recent traffic stop, Crowley Police arrested Antonio Brooks, left, and David Chaisson Jr., center. The two were charged with possession of crack cocaine and with outstanding warrants from the police department for possession with intent to distribute schedule I and schedule II narcotics.
In an unrelated incident, Brandel Moore, right, was arrested by authorities in Brazoria County, Texas, for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute codeine and monies derived from drug proceeds. He is, however, also wanted in Crowley on numerous warrants.
