Certificates of Appreciation were presented Thursday night to four individuals in recognition of their long-time support of the National Day of Prayer observances in Crowley. Top, Peggy Sandidge, second from left, was honored “for starting and continuing” the local observance. Taking part in that presentation were, from left, Thomas Sandidge, Peggy Sandidge, Mayor Chad Monceaux and Day of Prayer Co-Chairman Rich Hughes. At lower left, Dr. Ezora Proctor, right, is honored by Day of Prayer Chair Barbara Pete Morgan and Mayor Monceaux. At right, Christie Brammer is recognized by Morgan and Monceaux. Also honored but not present for the event was Barry Thompson. All four were named “Honorary Day of Prayer Task Force Members.”

Prayers of thanks, hope

For a little over an hour Thursday night, citizens from across Crowley came together to thank God for all His blessings and to pray for the future of the community, state and nation.
