Ag Dept. accepting applications for specialty crop grant funding
The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry is now accepting applications for the 2021 Specialty Crop Block Grant Program, according to Commissioner Mike Strain, D.V.M.
Paul “Jackie” Loewer, a leader in the state’s rice industry, was inducted into the Louisiana Agriculture Hall of Distinction on March 4. Besides being a successful rice farmer, Loewer has held numerous leadership positions at the state and national level, including chairman positions on both the Louisiana Rice Research Board and the USA Rice Federation.
