The Notre Dame Pios celebrate following their 7-2 victory over the St. Charles Catholic Comets in the Division III state championship game Friday evening at Sulphur’s McMurry Park. The victory gave the Pios their second state baseball title in three years and their fourth overall in school history.

Bringing home the hardware

In the biggest game of the season, Notre Dame coach Chris Stevens handed the ball to senior southpaw Will Vice and the Pios’ ace didn’t disappoint.

As the norm for Notre Dame and games at McMurry Park, Wednesday’s Division III semifinal contest between the top-seeded Pios and No. 4 St. Thomas Aquinas was a battle to the end.
