Ronald Pippin was crowned Queen of the Womanless Beauty Pageant held recently at the Rice Festival Building. The event benefitted the Miles Perret Center in Lafayette. Making the presentation to the new queen is Chad Monceaux, master of ceremonies.

Three Acadia Parish residents recently received awards from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Joel David Cart, far left, was presented the DAR Service to Veterans Award – Outstanding Veteran Volunteer Award. Gerard and Dana Frey, second and third from left, respectively were presented Excellence in Community Service Awards. Making the presentation was Regent Charlene Lacombe, Acadia Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution.
