The court included, from left, Dale Primeaux, Tarzan, Father of the Jungle; Phyllis Nickel, Pinky the Zebra; Jade Leger, Voodoo Doctor; King Louis IV Jared William Monk; Queen Anna IV Cheryl Simon Mueller; Norellie Fontenot, Painted Butterfly; April Leger, Bobo the Sexy Monkey; Cyndi Abshire, Coco the Parrot; and Ball Captain Rusti Morel.

Joie de Vie welcomes guests to the jungle

All the sights and sounds of a jungle wilderness greeted guests as they entered the Rayne Civic Center for the fourth annual Krewe de Joie de Vie Mardi Gras Ball Saturday, Jan. 20.

Troy Sarsfield, seated, designer of the 2018 Carnival d’Acadie poster, signed posters recently at City Hall. Standing with a poster is Mayor Greg A. Jones. The posters are on sale at Crowley City Hall. Cost is $20 signed and $10 unsigned. For general information on the festivities, booth space, entertainment and parade call Events Coordinator, Margaret Young or Sarah Fontenot, assistant, at 783-0824.

Mardi Gras excitement growing
