‘White Christmas’ opens at opera house tonight, runs through Sunday
Christian Community Theater of Lafayette will present Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” musical at the Grand Opera House in Crowley beginning this evening and running through Sunday, Dec. 10.
The musical is adapted by David Ives and Paul Blake from the beloved, timeless Christmas film of the same name and features 17 Irving Berlin songs.
The show centers on veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis, who have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil’s former army commander.
The dazzling score features well known standards including “Blue Skies,” “I Love A Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean” and the perennial favorite, “White Christmas.”
Performances will be presented tonight, tomorrow night and Saturday night at 7 p.m., with 2 p.m. matinees on Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets for the production are currently on sale for $14 online and $16 at the door. Tickets for groups, children, seniors, military and students are listed for $12.
The Grand Opera House is located at 505 N. Parkerson Ave.
