CHRISTMAS ROYALTY NAMED - The new 2016-2017 Christmas royalty was named Sunday during the annual Miss Merry Christmas and Master Noel Pageant at the Knights of Columbus Hall by ladies of the Gamma Kappa Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. The new honorees are Miss Merry Christmas Precious Arceneaux and Master Noel Jakocb-Paul Dupont. Rayne honorees crowned during weekend pageant

RAYNE - The 2016 Miss Merry Christmas and Master Noel Pageant was held Sunday, Nov. 20, at the KC Home.
The annual event, hosted by ladies of Gamma Kappa Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, the City of Rayne and the Knights of Columbus, was open to all first and second grade students with a Rayne address.
Selected Miss Merry Christmas was Precious Arceneaux, seven-year-old daughter of Megan Arceneaux and Hilary Wilson Jr. who is a second grader at Martin Petitjean Elementary. She was crowned by last year’s 2015 honoree Zoe Traore.
First Runner-Up to Miss Merry Christmas was Riley Rose LaGrange, six-year-old daughter of Eddie and Lindsey LaGrange and a first grade student at Martin Petitjean Elementary.
Second Runner-Up was Hollie Weber, seven-year-old daughter of Karl and Rhonda Weber and first grader at Mire Elementary School.
Contestants completing the program were Tori Browne, seven-year-old daughter of Michael and Tanya Browne and second grade student at Martin Petitjean Elementary;
Emma Paige Thomas, six-year-old daughter of Matt and Desireé Thomas and and a first grade student at Rayne Catholic Elementary.
Crowned Master Noel was Jakob-Paul Dupont, seven-year-old son of Paul and Paige Dupont and a secend grade student at Martin Petitjean Elementary. He was cronwed by last year’s 2015 honoree Draken Bellard.
Master Noel First Runner-Up was Brayden Caillet, seven-year-old son of Joseph Caillet and Danielle Hamm and a second grade student at Martin Petitjean Elementary.
The new king and queen were awarded a crown, banner and trophy. Runners-up received trophies.
All participants are invited to participate in the 2016 City of Rayne Christmas Parade on Tuesday, Dec. 6, by riding on Santa’s float, with the new King and Queen to take their honored place with Santa Claus on his sleigh.
