2019 FOOTBALL WINNERS - Not one, but two winners were named for the 2019 Annual Rayne Acadian-Tribune Football Prognosticators Contest, a race that was up for grabs until the very last game of the football picks. Duo slips past field in 2019 Tribune’s football contest

RAYNE - With a four-way tie heading into the final week of football picks of the Rayne Acadian-Tribune’s annual contest, two prognosticators finished in a two-way tie for first place following 12 weeks of football action.
Jeff Meche of Jeff Meche Electric and Jimmy Prevost of C.J. Prevost Insurance Company, completed their football picks last week with identical score of 118-38 of 156 footballs games or posting a 75% pick rate.
In a close third place finish in a contest that could have finished in a number of ways were Jerry Menard of Trahan Foods and Josh LaGrange of Shetler-Corley Motors. Each completed the season with a 116-40 count or a 74% pick rate.
Another two-way tie was named for fifth place including Donnie Venable Don Shetler and Chris Rumore of Acadia Animal Medical Clinic of Rayne. They tallied a 115-41 score or 73% pick rate.
Finishing in seventh place was Tyrone Charlot representing O’Yah’s Restaurant of Rayne. He completed the season at 114-42 over with a 72% pick rate.
Guy Simon of People’s Credit Union and Kernis Credeur finished in a two-way tie for eighth place with a 113-43 tally or a 72% pick rate.
J.B. Broussard of JB & Debbie claimed tenth place at 112-44 overall, while Billy Dischler of Granddaddy’s Crawfish placed eleventh with a 110-46 score.
Finishing out the list of prognosticators were Jarrod Gardiner of Gossen Funeral Home (109-47) and Wayne Gautreaux of Sunbelt Motors and Sterling Automotive Group (108-48).
