Deck the Streets, Noel Trail holiday events set

Main Street and the City of Crowley are hosting a couple of holiday-themed events.
Registration for the second annual Deck the Streets Christmas decorating contest for business and property owners located within the Commercial Historic District is now open.
Also, participants in the second annual Noel Trail are being sought.
For the Deck the Streets competition, downtown business and property owners, as well as civic groups, will have the ability to let their creative and competitive spirits shine while keeping the Christmas spirit alive in Historic Downtown.
Participating businesses are asked to keep a traditional theme in mind when decorating with the goal of transforming the downtown commercial area into “a scene from a Hallmark movie,” said Janie Morrison, Main Street director.
Prizes will be awarded for first place - $500; second place - $300; and third place - $100. There will also be a People’s Choice Award.
Judging will commence on Monday, Nov. 29, at 5:30 p.m. and awards will be presented the following day.
This year’s Noel Trail will run from Dec. 1 to Jan. 1, 2022, according to Morrison.
Visitors will be able to experience the beautifully decorated Historic District throughout the month of December.
“Be sure to take a drive through Historic Crowley to view the amazing display of lights and decorations on the Noel Trail starting December 1,” said Morrison.
A map will be created and available at local businesses and on social media so that visitors can follow the trail of lights.
