NEW DUSON TOWN COUNCIL - The mayor and members of the town council took their oaths of office on Tuesday, Jan. 15, during the first meeting of 2019. Duson Town leaders sworn into office

Mayor, Council take oaths during installation program

DUSON - During their first meeting of 2019 on Tuesday, Jan. 15, town leaders took their oaths of office.
Master of ceremonies was Brad Andrus, Town Attorney.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Police Chief Kip Judice.
A number of local and area public officials were recognized prior to the swearing in of the town leaders.
Louis Perret, Clerk of Court for Lafayette Parish, was the installing officer for the evening.
Johnny Thibodeaux was sworn in for his third term as mayor. Joining him as he took the oath of office were his wife, Wanda, and daughter, Hannah Boyer.
Councilman Carroll Pepper took the oath to continue as the town’s Mayor Pro-Tem.
The four council members sworn into office to continue their duties were Coby Duhon, Stephen Hanks, Carolyn “Pepe” Richard and Wade Robin.
Police Chief Kip Judice was sworn in for his second term in that capacity.
Police officers taking their oaths to protect and serve the Town of Duson were Lt. James Hodges and Officers Brett Sturm, Calvin Francis, Nick Miller, Timothy Cannon and Harvey Day.
Karen Laviolette was introduced as Town Clerk.
Following the ceremony, town leaders, their families and guests enjoyed refreshments to complete the evening.
