Rayne Beautification Board flag project now in full swing

RAYNE - Businesses along the main street and major roadways displayed new U.S. flags during the weekend and on Monday as Veterans Day was observed.
The new 3’ x 5’ flags were provided by the Rayne Beautification Board as they begin yet another project for the City of Rayne.
Established in 1987, the Rayne Beautification Board has continued to provide the city of Rayne with unique and successful projects enhancing the city’s known title as “Frog Capital of the World.”
The Board’s most recent project, large U.S. flags, is not a frog-related one, but one that will enhance the city’s main street and business district.
The first group of flags, approximately half of the 50 that were recently purchased by the Board, were installed just in time for Veterans Day.
The Beautification Board has made arrangements with Mayor Robichaux and the city for the installation, as well as displaying and care of the flags throughout the year during patriotic holidays.
The flags will be on display during patriotic times of the year, which will eventually line all major roadways and remind everyone of the sacrifices our veterans have made, not only for our community and country, but for freedom around the globe.
Businesses interested in receiving a free U.S. flag are invited to contact Becky Servat at 581-4550.
