Sias withdraws from Nov. 6 election

RAYNE - One of the two remaining candidates vying for District 5’s representative to the Acadia Parish School Board has withdrawn her name from the November election.
Challenger Elaine “Mama Wolf” (D) Sias officially withdrew her name from the race late last week.
In addition to the withdrawal of incumbant David Lalande last month, who has served District 5 for the past five years, the lone remaining candidate, Steve Jones (R) will assume the position on the Acadia Parish School Board as the new representative of District 5.
District 5 encompasses the entire city of Rayne and surrounding rural areas.
