10th Taste of Crowley Thursday at Opera House

Crowley Main Street will hold its Tenth Annual Taste of Crowley on Thursday, Nov. 1, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Le Grand Hall inside the Grand Opera House.

Michael Tipton, president of the Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation, presents a ceremonieal check in the amount of $25,000 to Audry Spencer, founder of Empowering the Community for Excellence Wednesday afternoon. Spencer recently was recognized as one of 10 Blue Cross / Blue Shield Angels “doing extraordinary good for the state’s children.”

A near-overflow crowd was in attendance Wednesday for the ceremonial presentation of a grant from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation to Empowering the Community for Excellence.

New Duson frontage road ready for business

DUSON – In less than seven months, the ribbon was cut Friday morning for the use of a new extension of Frontage Road in Duson.
