Groundbreaking ceremonies for the $804,399 construction and upgrades of the restroom and concession facilities at the Tony Robichaux Sports Complex were held Thursday morning at the site of one of the new restrooms between the tennis courts and baseball fields. Flanked by city staff and project officials are, with shovels from left, are Keith Breaux and L.J. Gielen, L.K. Breaux Contractors; Val Myers, Community Development / Marketing Manager; Councilman Chuck Ashby, chairman of the Recreation Committee; Councilmen Dickie Latiolais and Jeff Doré; Mayor Chad Monceaux; Crowely Recreation Director Peter Kirsch; Councilman Brad Core; Councilwomen Dr. Sandy Marx and Katie Chiasson; and Steven Premeaux, former councilman and chairman of the council’s Rec Committee when the contract for the new restroom project was approved.
