THE POST-SIGNAL / Claudette Olivier
Earlier this fall, firefighters at the Crowley Fire Department’s Central Station moved into the recently remodeled second floor living area of the building after residing in a nearby building for almost six years. Above left, Fire Chief Louis “Buddha” Romero sits in his office on the station’s second floor. At bottom right is the station’s second floor dorm room. The second floor of the building was damaged after the roof began to leak, and the remodel of the area was just recently completed. At lower left is the station’s renovated kitchen. The renovation of the fire house’s second floor was funded by a $125,000 grant spearheaded by Rep. John Stefanski. The current Central Fire Station was constructed in 1949.
