CROWLEY - The Crowley 4-H LSU AgCenter was recently the site of the Parish 4-H Cookery with many schools participating from throughout Acadia Parish.

On Friday, Nov. 18, a house fire occurred around 9:15 a.m. at 5741 Riverside Road west of Iota leaving a family of 10 homeless. The homeowner, Brandon Toney, was at work at the time of the fire, along with several other family members. His stepfather was home with a 2-year-old nephew. The youngster received minor burns and was air-lifted to a hospital in Lafayette where he was treated and later released. Along with their possessions, the family lost a couple of pets in the fire. Area fire departments from Evangeline, Iota and Jennings responded to the fire, along with several First Responders.
