Dorothy Prather Vondenstein

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 2 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata for Dorothy Prather Vondenstein, 88, who died Sunday, Jan.13, 2019, at 7:20 a.m. at The Carpenter House of Acadiana in Lafayette.
Fr. Clint Trahan, pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, will officiate for the services.
The family requests visiting hours Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to service time at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 12:30 p.m.
Burial will be in St. Lawrence Mausoleum.
Mrs. Vondenstein is survived by one daughter, Kathleen V. Shetler and husband Michael of Lake Charles; one son, William A. “Bill” Vondenstein and wife Renee of Crowley; one sister, Jean Premeaux of Crowley; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Anthony Vondenstein Sr.; her parents, Warren and Mandy Prather; one sister, Eathel Miller; and two brothers, Charles and C. J. Prather.
