Eugene Joseph Marceaux

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Lyons Point for Eugene Joseph Marceaux, 75, who died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Fr. Clint Trahan, pastor of Sacred Heart and St. Mary Catholic Churches of Port Barre, will officiate for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours be held Monday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A Rosary will be recited Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be in Johnson-Hanks Cemetery.
Mr. Marceaux’s most enjoyable pastime was the time spent with his family, especially picking at his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He has a heart of gold and was always ready and willing to help anyone no matter the circumstances. His most favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting and gardening. He loved and served his Lord and Savior and spent many years in Faith Renewals at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Lyons Point.
Mr. Marceaux is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Norman Marceaux of Lyons Point; two daughters, Dianna Husers and her husband Mark of New Iberia and Bonnie Bailey and her husband Timmy of Belle Rose; two sons, Eugene Marceaux Jr. and his wife Cassy of Galveston, Texas, and Eddie Marceaux and his wife Connie of Lyons Point; two sisters, Lee Anna Marceaux and her significant other Anthony and Mary Cormier and her husband Johnny, both of Lyons Point; two brothers, E.J. Marceaux Sr. of Rayne and Woody Marceaux and his wife Diana of Crowley; eight grandchildren, Tracy Hebert and her husband Kevin of Youngsville, Andrew Hyman of New Iberia, Mark Husers Jr. of New Iberia, Heather Labat and her husband Jordie of Belle Rose, Paige Alberes and her husband Jacob of Belle Rose, Harley Roberts of Lyons Point, Morgan Marceaux of Lyons Point and Abel Marceaux of Lyons Point; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son, Phillip John Marceaux; his parents, Nelson and Dometile Theriot Marceaux; and one brother, Ervin Marceaux.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Hyman, Kevin Hebert, Abel Marceaux, Harley Roberts, Timmy Bailey and Jordie Labat
