Evelyn was a member of First Baptist Church in Lafayette for many years where she was active in the WMU, choir and serving in the church nursery. In 2012, she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to be closer to her daughter and grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Norris Lee Stafford; her parents, August Robert Loewer and Myrtle Mae Goss; her sister, Elsie Gilchriest; and her son, Timothy Philip Stafford.
