Hilda M. Dupuis
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Hilda M. Dupuis, 84, at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Egan with Rev. Jude Thierry as celebrant. Visitation will be held at Duhon Funeral Home, LLC, Crowley Chapel on Sunday, Nov. 13, from 9 a.m. for immediate family and 10 a.m. for public until 8 p.m. with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30 p.m. and will resume on Monday at 8 a.m. until just prior to the time of service. Interment will follow the church service and will be in Cossinade Cemetery in Kaplan. Mrs. Dupuis passed away on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, at Camelot Brookside Nursing Home in Jennings.
Hilda was a native and lifelong resident of Egan. She was very active with St. Michael Catholic Church in Egan, having served as President of St. Michael Egan Altar Society and was the recipient of the Bishop Service Award for 1983 and 2009 as well as serving as a Religion teacher while her children were growing up.
Mrs. Dupuis is survived by her son, Michael Dupuis and his wife, Sisun of Jennings; daughter, Patricia “Trish” Dupuis of Egan; grandchildren, Greg Dupuis and his wife Melanie of Westlake, Erin Dupuis Newman and her husband Billy of Egan, Brent Dupuis and his wife Mindy of Hayes and Jonathan Dupuis and his fiance’ Victoria, both of Lafayette and Shayla Dupuis of Jennings; great-grandchildren, Calin Dupuis and his fiancee’ Ciara, Tessa Dupuis, Gracie Dupuis, Andrew Dupuis, Kierstn Dupuis, Dayden Dupuis, Kiera Newman and Olivia Dupuis; one great-great-grandchild, Macirose Dupuis; and daughter-in-law, Deborah Dupuis of Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Dupuis; parents, Lastie Beard and Ursula “Fatty “Monceaux Beard; son, Daniel Wayne Dupuis; sister, Amy Beard Fruge’; and one brother, Leroy “Little Leroy” Beard.
