John Dale Olivier

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home for John Dale Olivier, 68, who died Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his home in Estherwood.
Rev. Don Popp will officiate for the services. Visiting hours were held Monday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and services will be held Tuesday from 8 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in Estherwood Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Olivier proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He also went on to honorably retire from the Navy.
He is survived by his wife of five years, June Kate Olivier; one daughter, Trista Olivier of Baton Rouge; one step-daughter, Nika Gamez and her husband Anthony of Estherwood; four step-sons, David Gass and his wife Taylor of Crowley, Christopher Gass and his wife Teryn of Mire, Blaceson Gass and his wife Casie of Opelousas, and Kaine Smith of Lake Charles; two sisters, Priscilla Popp and her husband Rev. Don Popp of Estherwood, Lela Ashlock and her husband Gene of Columbia, MS.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Lula Lavergne Olivier; two brothers, Dorsey Jagneaux and Leland Jagneaux; two sisters, Yola Breaud and Lydia Olivier; paternal grandparents, Noel and Azena Oliver; and maternal grandparents, Alvert and Ezar Lavergne.
Pallbearers will be, JP Leger, Jauque Leger, David Gass, Christopher Gass, Blaceson Gass and Kaine Smith.
