RAYNE - A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne, for John Melancon, 56, who passed away on Thursday, Nov. 7, at Meriot Health Hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Deacon Tim Ledet of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne will officiate the services. Burial will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery No. 2 in Rayne.
The family has requested visitation be held Saturday, Nov. 30, at 9:30 a.m. until time of services in the Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa D. Blair Melancon of Gulfport, Mississippi; nephew, Matthew Melancon of Slidell; his father and step-mother, Maurice J. Melancon Sr. and Martutik Melancon of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Maurice Melancon Jr. of Baton Rouge and Nicholas Melancon of Houma; four sisters, Linda and husband Keith Simon of Tyrone, Georgia, Jane and husband Edward LaGrange of Rayne, Lena and husband Michael Meche of Rayne and Jane and husband Justin Kaster of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Mr. Melancon was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Credeur; paternal grandparents, Maurice Theodore and Matilde Marie LeBlanc Melancon; and maternal grandparents, Orluse and Utah Credeur.
