May Hebert Hains
A Funeral Mass for May Hebert Hains, 90, of Rayne will be celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rayne. Father Kevin Bordelon will serve as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery No. 2.
Recitation of the Rosary will precede the funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. in the church.
Mrs Hains passed away on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016 in the same Rayne home in which she was born.
A lifetime resident of Acadia Parish, Mrs. Hains was born on Aug. 4, 1926. She was a faithful and devout member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She worked for many years as a pharmacy tech at Rayne-Branch Hospital, and spent her entire life caring for others. Her relatives refer to her as “The Saint of the Family”, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her step-daughter, Wyndie Hains of Marrero; step-son, Joseph “Jackie” G. Hains III of Crowley; godson, Neal Baer of Peachtree, Georgia; and special cousins, Carol D. Fink of Rayne, Alan Broussard of San Francisco, Wendy R. Moore of Rayne, Scott Moore and wife Margaret of Lafayette, and Christy M. Ledet and husband Tim of Rayne.
Preceding Mrs. Hains in death were her husband, Joseph “Jack” G. Hains Jr.; parents, Gilbert Hebert and Helena LeBlanc Hebert; sister, Thelma H. Benoit; infant nephew, David Neal Benoit; and special cousin, David Moore.
