Mitchell John “Mitch” Monceaux

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home for Mitchell John “Mitch” Monceaux, 78, who died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at 3:09 a.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Deacon Tom Sommers will officiate for the services.
The family requests visiting hours Monday from noon to 10 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6 p.m. by Deacon Dan Didier; and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to service time.
Burial will be in Abshire Cemetery.
“Mitch” is survived by his nephew, Terry Monceaux and wife Barbara of Crowley; great-niece, Kristie Broussard and husband Damon of Hubert, North Carolina; great-nephew, Chad Monceaux of Crowley; great-great-nephew, Gage Monceaux of Crowley; and his companion, Lena Ann Suire of Rayne.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Theresa Fern Barousse; his parents, Adam and Adolia Abshire Monceaux; his sister, Lucille Monceaux; and one brother, Adam Monceaux Jr.
