Willie Mae Herpin Dailey

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Dec. 17 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Willie Mae Herpin Dailey, 89, who died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018 at 4 p.m. at Southwind Assisted Living in Crowley.
Fr. Mikel Polson, Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Willie Mae was a lifelong resident of Crowley. She graduated from St. Michael’s Catholic School. Willie Mae devoted numerous years to the banking and finance industry with service at the former Acadia Savings and Loan upon her retirement from Iberia Bank.
Mrs. Dailey was a caring, active and conscientious member of the Crowley Community serving as a board member of the Crowley Town Club, Queen Cimmer of Crowley Town Cub Mardi Gras, board member-International Rice Festival, member of the Les Dames Acadien Club, as well as many other civic and city organizations.
Willie Mae had a deep love for her Catholic faith and served Christ through being an active member of the Altar Society, Bereavement Guild and Rosary Group with St. Michael’s Church.
Mrs. Dailey is survived by one sister-in-law, Edith Dailey of Crowley; one niece, Carol D. Tall and her husband Mark of Crowley; two nephews, Scott Dailey of Crowley and Brett Dailey and his wife Donna of Crowley; one brother-in-law, J. C. Dailey of New Iberia; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Aaron Dailey, her parents, Elias and Effie Herpin, and a younger brother.
The family would like to express their utmost appreciation to the doctors, Southwind staff, Lamm Hospice and private sitters for their tremendous care of Willie Mae. Many thanks also to Willie Mae’s friends and family who visited and prayed for her during her time of illness.
Pallbearers will be Mark Tall, Scott Dailey, Jacob Tall, Mark Stutes, Chris Gardiner and Randy Stutes. Honorary Pallbearer will be Dane Adam.
