Rayne Wolves place second in St. Martinville Holiday Shootout
ST. MARTINVILLE - The Rayne High boys basketball team traveled to St. Martinville on December 26-29 for the 2019 St. Martinville Senior High School Holiday Shootout.
As a team, the Wolves brought home seocnd place honors, falling to New Iberia Senior High in the finals.
Their three wins during the four-day tournament came against Church Point (71-31), St. Martinville (64-54) and Peabody (68-67).
Prior to holiday break roundball action, the Wolves also participated in the New Iberia High School Tournament held December 18-21.
The Wolves posted a 2-1 tally with wins over Abbeville High School (70-60) and Northside High School (62-61), before falling to Thibodaux (69-62).
The Wolves were scheduled to host Southside High School this week, followed by a road contest on Friday, Jan. 10, at Breaux Bridge High School.
Lady Wolves
Prior to their holiday break, Rayne High’s Lady Wolves traveled to Crowley for a contest on Thursday, Dec. 19, at Crowley High School.
The Crowley Ladies used a scoring second half to pull away for the 50-34 win over the Lady Wolves.
The Ladies were scheduled to host Southside High School this week, followed by a road contest in Crowley at Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish on Friday, Jan. 10.
