RAYNE - The Rayne High baseball team had a good week with three wins in as many outings.
It was supposed to be a showdown Monday between two Class 2A powers - Division III’s No. 1- ranked Notre Dame Lady Pios and Class 2A’s No. 7-ranked Loreauville Lady Tigers.
Timely hitting eluded the Iota Lady Bulldogs in their District 5-3A matchup with Mamou on Monday.

Iota’s Nick Duplechain turns on a pitch Monday during the Bulldogs’ 13-0 victory over Northside Christian. Duplechain went 3-for-3 with a a double, a home run and three RBI in the victory.
The Iota Bulldogs erupted for nine runs in the first inning and never looked back in a 13-0 thrashing of the Northside Christian Warriors Monday afternoon.
