Eunice Players’ Theatre’s ‘Noises Off!’ to open Nov. 12
The Eunice Players’ Theatre’s production of the comedy “Noises Off!” will open Tuesday, Nov. 12 with a 7 p.m. showing.
Written by Michael Frayn and called the funniest farce ever written, “Noises Off!” presents a manic menagerie of itinerant actors rehearsing a flop called “Nothing’s On.” Doors slamming, on- and off-stage intrigue and an errant herring all figure in the plot of this hilarious and classically comic play.
The brilliance of this show is in the details. “Noises Off!” takes side-splitting laughter to the next level, and makes you wonder if that metaphor is literally true. The best way to describe this show is like theatrical bumper cars. One problem bumps into the next problem, and this continues until we reach the conclusion of the show.
This is the last revival show of the EPT’s 50th season. It is being directed by Annette Harrington and Brett Faulkner and stars Cindy Hicks Veillon Mattei as Dotty Otley; Casey Shmasey Harmon as Lloyd Dallas; Gabe Ortego as Garry Lejeune; Kristi Burleigh as Brooke Ashton; April Danielle Miller as Poppy Norton-Taylor; Michael Sanchez as Frederick Fellowes; Angie Benoit McBride as Belinda Blair; Nathaniel Clark as Tim Allgood; and Michael Bourgeois as Selsdon Mowbray.
The production will run with 7 p.m. showings Nov. 12-14, Nov. 18-20 and Nov. 22, and a 2 p.m. matinee on Nov. 24.
“Gold Night” will be Wednesday, Nov. 13, with wine and cheese served at intermission as a “thank you” to EPT’s patrons. The Wednesday, Nov. 20, showing will be a “Dinner Theatre.” A steak dinner will be served at Nicks on 2nd at 6 p.m. and theatre-goers will be escorted to the theatre for the 7 p.m. show and then escorted back to the restaurant for dessert and coffee at intermission.
Individual tickets are $15 and may be purchased at Beaucoup (114 S. Second Street in Eunice) or by calling 337-550-4727. Tickets are also available at the door, but will be cash or check only. The “Dinner Theatre” is an additional $20.
