Parkerson, was awarded first place in the 80th International Rice Festival Front Door Decorating Contest for its creative wreath and swag, complete with pitcher of beer made with rice (inset). Boutique Forty-Six, 300 N. Parkerson Ave., was awarded honorable mention in the 80th International Rice Festival Door Decorating Contest for its traditional-style fall wreath and swag. This year, the Crowley Garden Club, in conjunction with the International Rice Festival Association, brought back the IRF Front Door Decorating Contest for the 80th International Rice Festival.
Ann Marie Stoma of Crowley and Beau Michael Dugas of Cankton were joined in holy matrimony at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley on Saturday, Oct. 8.
