February events at the library

The Acadia Parish Library in Crowley has announced a number of events scheduled for the month of February:
• ValenSLIME Lab - Friday, Feb. 14 - 4 p.m.
Children are invited to make Valentine’s Day-themed slime. The program will last approximately 30 minutes. The event is free and no sign-up is required.
• Children’s Mardi Gras Celebration - Monday, Feb. 24 - 1:30 p.m.
The library will celebrate Mardi Gras beginning with a screening of the Disney movie “The Princess and the Frog” (98 minutes), followed by a king cake party. The event is free and sign-up is not required.
• APL Writers’ Group Meeting - Saturday, Feb. 29 - 10 a.m.
The library will host its monthly Writers’ Group meeting. This month’s discussion theme will be “Where to start: How do I become a writer? Finding your own unique style.” The group is led by library staff, and the meeting is free and open to the public. Writers of all ages and skill levels are invited.
