Church Point Mardi Gras events announced
Church Point’s Mardi Gras festivities will kick of Feb. 22 with the Saddle Tramp Riders Club Enfant Courir de Mardi Gras Run.
Mardi Gras Saturday Float/ Wagon Registration is $75 and is cash only.
Day-of-run sign up will be from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Saddle Tramp Clubhouse.
The ride is open to children 14 years and under, and registration is $10 per child.
No horses or alcohol are allowed on Children’s Mardi Gras Run.
The run will begin at 10 a.m., and the Children’s Courir de Mardi Gras Main Street Parade will be at 1 p.m.

The 59th Annual Saddle Tramp Riders Club Inc. Original Traditional Cajun Courir de Mardi Gras Run will be Sunday, Feb. 23.
No float registrations will be taken on the morning of Feb. 23.
Day-of individual sign up will be at 7 a.m. at the Saddle Tramp Clubhouse, and the run will begin at 8 a.m. Costs are as follows: 21-35 years old, $30; and under 21 years old, $30. Must have a valid government ID or driver's license to register.
The parade through Church Point will begin about 1 p.m.
In keeping with tradition, the Capitan request that all participants be dressed in full traditional costume (capichon, mask, traditional outfit).

The Le Vieux Presbytère will celebrate Mardi Gras with an Open House at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23.
The public is invited first to view the museum decorated inside and out and then to linger to watch the Church Point Mardi Gras parade, which reaches Main Street at 1 p.m.
Admission is free, but donations are accepted.
The museum is also open to the public Thursdays from 3-5 p.m. and at other times by appointment.
