Estherwood to honor all vets Sunday
The Estherwood Memorial Cemetery Association will once again honor and remember veterans of the United State Armed Forces during a program to be held Sunday morning, Nov. 10.
For more than 35 years a veterans program has been held in Estherwood to recognize U.S. veterans, both living and deceased, according to Sandi Maples, chairwoman.
The celebration will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Knights of Columbus Home on Cemetery Road. A breakfast will follow the program.
All veterans and their families and friends are invited to attend and participate in the memorial event.
There are 134 veterans buried in the Estherwood Cemetery, according to Maples. Among them are two veterans from the Civil War.
Maples said the Cemetery Association stages this program annually “to remember our veterans’ courage, valor and sacrifice.”
