Representatives, supporters and students of AMIkids in Branch were guests of the Crowley Lions earlier this week. The group talked about the many programs offered at the facility and its mission of helping kids discover the potential within them, transform their lives and strengthen our community by empowering boys ages 14-18 through care and guidance to reach their potential and, as a result, break the cycle of failure and poverty. Taking part in the presentation were, from left, Eric Jolivette, executive director of AMIKids; Mike Neustrum, past sheriff of Lafayette Parish; two young men who participate in the program (who cannot be identified by name according to the program’s rules); Jerry Prejean, board member of the AMIkids program; and Lions Club President Keith Frederick.
