The Estherwood administration recently recognized members of the Midland High School FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) Chapter for their work with the village’s October Fest. The MHS Chapter was instrumental in development and management of the event that hosted over 750 people. Records of the plans and the outcome earned the Chapter top honors at the recent FCCLA State Convention — “98 points out of a possible 100, the highest score in the state,” said Sponsor Dinah Istre. The team will now compete for national recognition in San Diego. At the recent council meeting in Estherwood are, from from left, Chapter members Raynee Manshack, Zoe Guidry, Brooke Benoit and Dinah Istre; back from left, Alderman Michael Stutes, Alderwoman Jo Ann Stutes, Mayor Donna Bertrand and Alderwoman Emily Mire.
