THE POST-SIGNAL / Steve Bandy
Just as the Carnival d’Acadie Parade started to roll Tuesday, the sun peaked out from behind the clouds. What appeared to be a record crowd was in attendance for the annual Mardi Gras event, sponsored by the City of Crowley with assistance from the Krewe of Town Revelers. Clockwise from upper right, Mayor Chad Monceaux lets fly a handful of Mardi Gras beads to an enthusiastic crowd; the International Rice Festival entry threw cups, beads and the coveted T-shirts; a new entry in this year’s parade was the Krewe de Not You; Town Revelers, including 23-year parade chairman Larry DuBose (left) throw beads during the parade.
(We will have more Mardi Gras photo coverage in coming editions.)
