CROWLEY - There were few surprises as qualifying for the Nov. 8 municipal elections opened Wednesday morning.

Mark Harris, center, was named the Crowley Lions Club Lion of the Year in recognition of his efforts in spearheading the project to erect the American flag in the Tony Robichaux Sports Complex this year.
