Donovan O’Shea “Shea” Duncan

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 2 p.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Donovan O’Shea “Shea” Duncan, 57, who died on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at 6:17 p.m. at Southwind Nursing Home.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Father Mikel A. Polson, pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass.
For his funeral service, Carolyn Freeland and Julia Leonards will serve as readers with Erin Flowers and Devin Rae Rutherford as gift bearers.
Organist Alberta Lyons and soloist Vanessa Benoit will offer the liturgy’s music including “Amazing Grace”, “How Great Thou Art”, “Old Rugged Cross”, and “Isaiah 49-I will never forget you”.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Kibodeaux Duncan of Crowley; his daughters, Kathryn Shea and Sybil Lorraine Duncan of Crowley and Shannon Eloise Kibodeaux of Lafayette; his sister, Mona (Johnny) Venable of Crowley; his mother-in-law, Eloise Baker Schuller (Bill) of Crowley; his father-in-law, the late Rev. Roy Kibodeux Sr. (Ienaise) of Crowley; three Godchildren, Bryant James Venable, Erin Kibodeaux Flowers and Devin Rae Rutherford.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard “Boochie” Duncan; his mother, Suzanne Zaunbrecher Duncan; paternal grandparents, Robert C. Duncan and Mabel Raspberry Duncan Stakes; and maternal grandparents, Henry Zaunbrecher and Annie Bollich Zaunbrecher.
Shea was born in Crowley and graduated in 1977 from Notre Dame High School. Prior to Shea’s illness, he was the owner of Shea Duncan Trucking Company. He was also a member of the Acadiana Antique Tractor and Engine Club.
Pallbearers will be Bryant Venable, Wendell Zaunbrecher, Eric Gordon, John Fruge, David John and Tommy McNeely.
Honorary pallbearers are, Paul Landry, Al Doty, John Royer, Ray Istre, Paul Guidry, Ronnie Aguillard and Charles Rutherford.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Ernest William Bieber

The family’s hearts are filled with sorrow, as they announce the passing of their loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, Ernest William Bieber on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at the age of 73. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at the First Baptist Church in Lafayette. Interment will follow in the Mowata Baptist Cemetery with Dr. Steve Horn officiating.
Ernest was a 1961 graduate of Crowley High School and a 1965 graduate of U.S.L. He was a retired farmer. He was a former Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Lafayette. Ernest was an oil and gas land man and liked gardening and hunting. He will be truly missed by all the lives he has touched especially his wife of 48 years, Ann Bieber of Branch; his daughter, Katherine Bieber of St. Maarten and son, Link Bieber and wife Courtney of Branch; his four siblings, Blanche Wallis of Westlake, Roland Bieber of Nederland, Texas, Robert and David Bieber, both of Mowata; his six joys of his life his grandchildren, Karoline Deshotels, Hanna Bieber, Katelyn Boudreaux, Ashlyn, Madilyn and Hunter Bieber; and three great-grandchildren, Cy and Jace Deshotels and Aiden Bieber; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Rosa B Norman Bieber.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, Jan. 9, from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at First Baptist Church in Lafayette from 9 a.m. until time of services.

Alton Calvin Stanford

Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 9, at 11 a.m. at Northside Assembly of God/Acadiana Cathedral for Alton Calvin Stanford, 83, who died Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at his home in Egan.
Rev. Randy Trahan and Pastor Loyd Singley will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours be held on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley, and Monday from 8:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Northside Assembly of God. Interment will be in Sensat Cemetery in Egan.
Mr. Stanford proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict as an Army Ranger (Airborne) from 1951-1954.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Pat Daigle Stanford of Egan; one daughter, Patty Gatte and her husband Nacis of Iota; three sons, Byron Stanford and his wife Renae of Iota, Todd Stanford of Houston and Scott Stanford and his wife Kay-K of Spring, Texas; six granddaughters, Dana Daigle and her husband Glenn of Jennings, Heather Roemer and her husband Dakota of Baton Rouge, Danielle Norfleet and her husband Sasha of Chesapeake, Virginia, Katelyn Stanford and her fiancé Jonathan May of Baton Rouge, Brooke Stanford of Ruston and Piercyn Stanford of Spring; four grandsons, Ben Gatte and his wife Ashley of Lake Charles, Austin Stanford of Austin, Texas, Ethan Stanford of Spring and Brendan Stanford of Spring; and one sister, Audrey Truax of Egan.
Mr. Stanford is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Ella Leger Stanford.
Active pallbearers will be Byron Stanford, Todd Stanford, Scott Stanford, Nacis Gatte, Ben Gatte and Austin Stanford. Honorary pallbearers will be Ethan Stanford, Brendan Stanford, Glenn Daigle, Dakota Roemer, Sasha Norfleet and Jonathan May.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the Northside Christian School playground project.

Thelma Benning LeBlanc

Memorial services for Thelma Benning LeBlanc, age 91, will be held at 11 a.m. the 14th  day of January, 2017, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Crowley.
A resident of Crowley, Thelma passed away Dec. 21, 2016. She is survived by her two children, Paulette L. Zajicek of Mesa, Arizona, and Steven P. LeBlanc of Iowa; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. LeBlanc; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Benning; two brothers, C.E. and Larry; and one sister, Evon B. Arceneaux.
Mrs. LeBlanc was previously employed by Williams Insurance Agency and Crowley High School for many years. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the charity or church of your choice.

Guilliam Moore Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Guilliam Moore Jr., 94, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, in the St. John Evangelist Church in Mermentau with Rev. Randall Moreau officiating.
Entombment will be in the St. John Cemetery Mausoleum under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.
Visitation will be in the church hall from 3:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday. There will be no visitation in the church prior to service Saturday.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Friday, in the church hall.
Mr. Moore died at 9:40 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at his residence in New Iberia.
Mr. Moore was a native of Mermentau. He was a high school graduate and a retired station agent for the railroad. He was State Commander of the Louisiana VFW, 1976-1977 and also a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Goldie Moore; one daughter, June “Tudy” (Donald) Foiani of Mermentau; one son, Billy (Janet) Moore of Homer; one brother, CC “Buddy” Moore of Toledo Bend; grandchildren, Louis, Tony, Joe Foiani and Lisanna Parkhurst, Monica Olsen and Melanie Koskie; 10 great-grandchildren; four step-children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Guilliam and Marie Cary Moore; his first wife, June Periera; and one grandson, William Foiani.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Southwest Louisiana Veteran’s Home or the World War II Museum in New Orleans.
