Glenn Edward Comeaux

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at a noon Mass of Christian Burial in Martin & Castille’s La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, for Glenn Edward Comeaux, 76, who passed away on Jan. 2, 2017 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lector will be Dean Wright and Kathy Comeaux. Giftbearers will be Caroline D’Aquin, Alexandra Domingue and Meghan Houpy. Tommy Duhon will give the eulogy.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Gayle Begnaud Comeaux; his daughters, Michelle Comeaux, Lisa Comeaux Krieg and husband Ray Krieg, Laurie Comeaux D’Aquin and Yvonne Comeaux Houpy and husband David Houpy; his granddaughters, Alexandra Domingue, Caroline D’Aquin and Meghan Houpy; his grandsons, Blake Domingue and wife Kristen Colvin Domingue, Richard D’Aquin, III and Jacob Houpy; his sister-in-law, Dean Comeaux; and his two nieces, Kathy Comeaux andrea Murphy and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lily Hoffman Comeaux and Dallas Joseph Comeaux; and his brother, Ronald Joseph Comeaux.
A resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for most of his life, Glenn Edward Comeaux was born on June 15th, 1940. He attended Crowley High School and continued his education at the University of Louisiana, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting. Glenn worked in health care as controller at Lafayette General Hospital. For most of his career, he served as Senior Vice President of Finance at Acadian Ambulance Service. He retired in 2005 after 34 years of service.
Glenn proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps and was a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League, Acadiana Detachment. He was very active in several professional, civic and charitable organizations including the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Lafayette Catholic Service Centers, Inc., St. Pius Knights of Columbus Council 8901, Lafayette Sertoma Club, American Ambulance Association and Hospital Financial Management Association.
Glenn was an avid golfer and member of the Le Triomphe Golf Country Club and also enjoyed fishing and boating at the camp at False River. Glenn was a loving husband father and grandfather. His family was of most importance to him. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Blake Domingue, Richard D’Aquin, III, Ray Krieg, David Houpy, Jacob Houpy, Shane Louviere and Paul Toups, Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ken Vigee, Carl Brazel, Buddy Hoffpauir and Johnny Kelley.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille’s SOUTHSIDE location on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
A Rosary will be prayed by Bernard Hart Littell, Jr. on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.

Kerwin James Woodard

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at the Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley, for Kerwin James Woodard, 55, who died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley.
Pastor Chris Campo will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours be observed on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Woodard is survived by his wife Trudy Hoffpauir Woodard of Crowley; one son, Erik Woodard and his wife Carolyn of Memphis, Tennessee; one daughter, Alyson Woodard of Crowley; and one sister Thelma Woodard Hebert and her husband Kenneth of Crowley.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Lou Hanks; and two brothers, Kirvee Lynn Woodard and Larry Woodard.

Peggy Ann Sarver

Funeral services for Peggy Ann Sarver, 72, of Rayne were held on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 3 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel, Rayne. Pastor Randy Trahan, associate pastor at Northside Assembly of God, will officiate. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery, Crowley.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, Jan. 3, from 9 a.m. until service time in Gossen Funeral Home, Rayne.
Mrs. Sarver passed away on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, in Rayne.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Smith Sr. of Rayne; sons, David Trent Bertrand of Rayne and Shane Bertrand and wife Sharon of Rayne; step-daughters, Lisa Soileau and husband Darrell of Rayne and Janice Stutes and husband Tommy of Crowley; sisters, Linda Foreman and husband Glen of Rayne, Gwen Petry and husband Jeffery of Crowley, and Terry Billeaud and husband Danny of Scott; brothers, Danny “Bubba” Sarver of Crowley and Don Sarver and wife Sherry of Crowley; grandchildren, Sommer Simon and husband Jordan “Bubba” Simon of Scott and Jeremy Bertrand and wife Tori of Maurice; great-grandchildren, Maci Simon, Ahni Bertrand, Cade Hair and Demi Bertrand; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceding Mrs. Sarver in death were her brothers, Joseph Boyce “J.B.” Sarver and Lonnie Sarver; grandchildren, Brandon Bertrand and Cody Alan Bertrand; and step-son, Jimmy “Bubba” Smith Jr.

RAYNE - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017 at 11:00 am at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne for Joseph Wayne Menard, Sr., 65, who died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017 at his residence in Rayne.

Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne.

Todd Trahan will conduct the funeral services.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Richard Menard; daughter, Jamie Menard Royer and husband Shannon of Mire; son, Joseph "Jody" Wayne Menard, Jr. of North Dakota; three grandsons, Trent Mouton and wife Haley, Lukas Meche and fiancé Libby McFarland, and Nyles Menard; five granddaughters, Dondie Royer, Abbie Royer, Bailee' Royer, Madeline Weber and Jacie Richard, two great-grandsons, Isaiah Meche and Lucian Porter Mouton, two sisters, Mary Alice Leger and husband Ricky of Bossier, and Shirley Meshell of Natchitoches; two nephews, Jason Meshell of Many and Kevin Meshell of Zwolle; a niece, April Odonahue and husband Scott of Haughton; and a great-niece, Savannah Odonahue of Haughton.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leodice "Jr" Menard, Jr.; mother, Sadie Boudreaux Menard; grandmother, Ludie Menard; father-in-law, LeRoy Richard; mother-in-law, Vercy Richard; brother in law, Dewayne Meshell; and nephew, Chad Meshell.

James I. McClanahan

James I. McClanahan passed through the door of death into Heaven on Dec. 30, 2016, at 10:25 p.m. at The Carpenter House in Lafayette.
Born Oct. 30, 1919, in Fort Worth, Texas, Jim was raised in Shreveport. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was married to Kathleen Thompson McClanahan who preceded him in death. Jim was an avid fisherman.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the Woodlawn Mausoleum.

Anna B. Peacock

Funeral services will be held for Anna B. Peacock, 72, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31, at the Duhon Funeral Home-Crowley Chapel with Brother Gerard Morgan officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 30, until 10 p.m. and will resume on Saturday at 8 a.m. until just prior to the service time. Interment will follow the service and will be in North Hanks Cemetery. Mrs. Peacock passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016.
She survived by her children, James Johnson and his wife Veronica of Crowley, Wallace Johnson and his wife Tonina of Abbeville, Diana Johnson of Crowley; Sandra Thibodeaux and her husband James of Crowley, Mickey Johnson of Cottonport, Patricia Logan of Abbeville, Gayle Istre and her husband Jeremy of Morse; 13 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren; four brothers and four sisters.
Anna was preceded in death by her children’s father, Wallace Johnson Sr.; husband, Bobby Peacock; son, Marcus Johnson; and her parents, Eddie Breaux Sr. and Amelia Hanks Breaux.
Pallbearers will be Michael Thibodeaux, Randy Orr, Jr., Brandon Orr, Marcus Orr, Armando Sierra, Tyler Credeur, Dylan Johnsnon and Justin Miller.

Dorothy Eleanor Bergeron Jennings

RAYNE - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at 10:30 am at Centenary United Methodist Church in Rayne for Dorothy Eleanor Bergeron Jennings, 84, who died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.

Interment will be in the Rayne Cemetery Inc. in Rayne.

Survivors include three sons, Charles W. Jennings and wife Nikki of Katy, Texas, Dale R. Jennings and wife Shari of Batchelor, and Gary J. Jennings and wife Bernadette of Rayne; six grandchildren, Joshua Jennings and wife Katie, Lauren Jennings Theunissen and husband Joseph, Kristopher "Kace" Jennings, Logan Jennings, Tyler Jennings, McKenzie Jennings Boutte and husband Taven; four great-grandchildren, Analei Jennings, Aylei Theunissen, Lukas Theunissen and David Jennings; and one sister, Clairbel Bergeron Miley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carl Jennings; a grandson, David Scott Jennings; her father and mother, Harry William Bergeron and Albertine Martin Bergeron; and eleven siblings, Beaulah Bergeron Henry, Sadie Bergeron, Eddrest Bergeron Ferdinand, Calvin Bergeron, Eulen Bergeron, George Bergeron, Richard Bergeron, Harry James Bergeron, Henry Paul Bergeron, Berkley Bergeron and Shirley Bergeron.

"Mrs. Dot" was born and raised in Houma. She was a graduate of Terrebonne High School and later married and moved to Rayne where she worked for Acadia Parish as a special education aide for over 20 years. She was a member of the Rayne Centenary United Methodist Church where she was involved in church activities such as the United Methodist Women, held many church board positions and sang in the church choir. She was known for singing at weddings and other events. She was a loving mother and grandmother who adored her family and friends who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Pallbearers will be Ej Bergeron, Joshua Jennings, Tyler Jennings, Joseph Theunissen, Kristopher "Kace" Jennings, Steven Jennings  and Mark Bergeron.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne on Friday, Dec. 30, from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Saturday, Dec. 31, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.

Stephanie Lee Dugas

Duson - A Mass of Christian Burial for Stephanie Lee Dugas, 70, was celebrated on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at 3 p.m. in St. Theresa Catholic Church in Duson.
Father Allen Breaux served as celebrant.  Interment followed in St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery in Duson.
Visitation was held on Friday, Dec. 30, from 9 a.m. until 2:15 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 11 a.m.
Ms. Dugas passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, in Duson.
A lifelong resident of Duson, Ms. Dugas was a graduate of Scott High School. She served as a special education bus attendant for the Lafayette Parish School Board for 29 years. Ms. Dugas was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church.
Survivors include her nephew/son, Kori Dugas and special daughter-in-law Georgette of Duson; brother, Hillary “Ray” Dugas of  Duson; sisters, Bernita Dugas of Duson and Alberta Dugas of Duson; grandchildren, Laura Mae Dugas, Amber Cormier, and Mackenezie Cormier; and special cousin, Brenda Butler Pirouznia of Duson.
Preceding Ms. Dugas in death were her parents, Percy Dugas and Bernice Trahan Dugas.
Serving as pallbearers were Kori Dugas, Tony Martin, Ramin Pirouznia, Ralph “Joey” Daigle II, Nick Ferguson, and Shawn Pepper.
Named as honorary pallbearers were Ralph Daigle, Ryan Pirouznia, Roddy Pirouznia, and Steve Breaux.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of Acadia, Kori Dugas, Georgette Dugas, Laura Mae Dugas, Karen Guillory, Ralph and Mona Daigle, and Joey and Tiffany Daigle.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana.

RAYNE - Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at a 11:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Robert "Chet" Oliver, 52, who died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016.

Interment will be in the St. Leo IV Cemetery in Roberts Cove.

Rev. Kevin Bordelon, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Caillier Oliver of Rayne; two daughters, Morgan Kathryn Oliver and Madeline Elise Oliver of Rayne; his mother, Angela Stutes Oliver of Crowley; and two brothers, Craig Joseph Oliver and Curt David Oliver, both of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph "Joe" Oliver; his in-laws, Allie and Calvin Caillier; paternal grandparents, Adez and Joseph Oliver, Sr.; and maternal grandparents, Ojay and Eunice Stutes.

Pallbearers will be T.C. Chachere, Bryan Corzine, Danny Bedel, Larry Dyer, Ora Thomas, Lance LeJeune, Neal Comeaux, and Eric Hetzel.
