Hosts and special guests gathered around the new city marker unveiled Saturday, April 11, for the Bunche Library of Rayne following the ribbon ceremony for the official announcement of the historic structure named on the National Register of Historic Places. The Rayne site is recognized as the oldest known Ralph Bunche Library in the entire United States.

During the March meeting of American Legion Arceneaux Post 77, Commander Blaine Dupont presented the many awards and cash prizes to Rayne High’s Betty Mutoji on earning first place at the local, district and state level of the 2026 American Legion Oratorical Contest. Mutoji will now proudly represent the State of Louisiana at the 2026 American Legion National Oratorical Contest slated this May in Hillsdale, Michigan.

Rayne High’s Peyton Daigle signed a letter of intent on Wednesday, March 25, to continue his baseball career at East Central Community College in Mississippi. The talented student-athlete is completing his senior year as leader for the RHS Wolves.
