Notre Dame’s Gabe Doucet slides around a tag at second base during a recent game against Welsh. Doucet and the Pios will be in Shreveport this weekend taking on Division III’s No. 4-seed Calvary Baptist in a best-of-three quarterfinal series. The first game is slated for tonight at 6. Game two is scheduled for Saturday morning at 11 with the if necessary game to follow.
The road to the state tournament is a little different this year for the Division III defending state champion Notre Dame Pios.
Episcopal School of Acadiana ace Henry Shuffler baffled the Northside Christian Warriors for 6 2/3 innings Tuesday in the two teams Division V quarterfinal contest at Miller Stadium.
The Northside Christian Warriors had one of their most memorable seasons on the hardwood this year and honors are still rolling in for small school playing with some big-time talent.
