The initial unemployment insurance claims for the week ending Nov. 23 dropped to 1,903 from the previous week’s total of 2,102.

According to Crowley Police, the city has seen an increase in car vandalism over the past two weeks.
At approximately 9:30 a.m. Wednesday Nov. 27, deputies responded to a 911 call at a residence on LA Hwy 101 north of Lacassine for illegal discharge of firearms.
