Rayne High’s Peyton Daigle signed a letter of intent on Wednesday, March 25, to continue his baseball career at East Central Community College in Mississippi. The talented student-athlete is completing his senior year as leader for the RHS Wolves. Still time to enter traditional Frog Derby Pageant

RAYNE - A special invitation is being sent out to young ladies to enter this year’s 2026 Lions Club Frog Derby Pageant, a long-time tradition presented by the Rayne Lions Club since the 1940s.

Congratulations are extended to Rayne High’s Betty Mutoji on earning first place at the local, district and state level of the American Legion Oratorical Contest. Here, she receives the District 7 Oratory Contest Award by District 7 Commander David Credeur of Eunice. The district-wide event was hosted by American Legion Post 77 in Rayne. She went on to win state and will now represent Louisiana at the National Oratorical Contest slated in May 2026 in Hillsdale, Michigan.

Congratulations were extended to Suzette Leonards whose poster entry was selected for the 2026 Frog Festival poster for this year’s festive activities. The poster was unveiled Saturday, March 28, during the Frog Festival Queen’s Pageant held at the Civic Center. Taking part in the ceremonies were, from left, event co-chair Michael Guidry, Frog Festival Chairman Marietta Leonards, honoree Suzette Leonards and event co-chair Cordelia Pizzalotto.
