Janet Faye McBride

RAYNE - A Mass of Christian Burial for Janet Faye McBride, 55, of Rayne will be celebrated on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 1:00 PM in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rayne. Father Christopher Cambre, Associate Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery No. 2, Rayne.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM in Gossen Funeral Home, Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until 12:30 PM in the funeral home.

Janet passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 at her Rayne residence.

A native and lifelong resident of Rayne, Janet was a faithful and faith filled member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She demonstrated her faith by praying daily rosaries, and by assisting with the Good Samaritans.

Janet earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at University of Southwest Louisiana (now University of Louisiana at Lafayette), and served as a school teacher in Acacia Parish schools for several years. She also worked for many years selling cars. She loved the outdoors, enjoyed camping, and could often be found working in her flower gardens. She had a green thumb, and could grow beautiful plants that others had given up on. Janet was also a fan of the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tiger football.

Janet was most passionate about her family and friends. She was a loyal friend to many, and her greatest joy was being with and caring for her family. Janet will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her daughter, Ellie Comeaux Duplichain and husband, Jared of Rayne; son, Dave Comeaux, Jr. of Rayne; brothers, Stephen McBride of Breaux Bridge, and John McBride of Mire; sister, Louise McBride Cannon and husband, Mark of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Sydnee Duplichain, Rhen Thomas Duplichain, and Thayer Duplichain; nephew, Michael Guidry; and Godchild, Ridge Thibodeaux. Janet is also survived by a host of close friends.

Preceding Janet in death were her parents, Sidney McBride, Sr. and Isabelle Benoit McBride; and brothers, Sidney James McBride, Jr. and Gregory McBride.

Serving as pallbearers are Michael Guidry, Carl McBride, Thomas Sweeney, Mark Cannon, David LeLeux, and Reggie Thibodeaux.

Margie Lynn McPherson

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Margie Lynn McPherson Sonnier, 59, announces her passing on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 12:51 a.m. at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley.
The family requests visiting hours Monday, September 25, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 1p.m. Following the visitation Mrs. Sonnier will be cremated.
Margie is survived by her husband John E. Sonnier of Crowley; one daughter, Stephanie Buck and her husband, Brad of Nacogdoches, Texas; two grandchildren, Robert Clinton and Alexia; one sister, Sheryl Bartlett and her husband, James of Crowley and one brother, Ronnie McPherson and his wife, Rhonda of Austin, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Evelyn Angel McPherson.
