Charlotte Marie Daigle Champagne

Duson - Funeral services for Charlotte Marie Daigle Champagne, 65, of Duson, were held on Saturday, Sept. 23, at 2 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne.
Reverends Billy Pruett and Billy Plymouth officiated. Interment followed in St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery in Duson.
Visitation was held on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. until service time in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel, with a rosary being recited at 11 a.m.
Mrs. Champagne passed away on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, in her Duson residence.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Jimmy Champagne of Duson; daughter, Tanna Champagne Gilbert and husband Glenn of Rayne; sisters, Anna Roy and husband Russell of Indian Bayou, and Linda Hoffpauir of Rayne; grandchildren, Jordan Champagne, Bryant Gilbert, Dillan Gilbert, and Brad Gilbert; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding Mrs. Champagne in death were her son, Kynan Champagne; parents, Ferdinand and Ozite Biadeaux Daigle; sister, Marilyn Pizzolatto; and brother, Daniel Daigle.

Nancy Guidry Foreman

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Crowley for Nancy Guidry Foreman, 79, who died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 at 8:08 a.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Mrs. Foreman was a native and lifelong resident of Crowley. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who loved to travel and bake.
Fr. Mikel Polson, Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. A rosary will be recited Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Foreman is survived by her husband of 62 years, Roland Ray Foreman, Sr. of Crowley; two sons, Roland Ray Foreman, Jr. and his wife Charlotte of Crowley, Mitchell James Foreman of Crowley; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Paul Foreman; her parents, Homer and Mary Trahan Guidry; two sisters, Marjorie G. Istre and Winnie G. McDaniel; three brothers, Huey, Bobby and Hubert Guidry.
Pallbearers will be Roland Ray Foreman, Jr., Adam Neil Foreman, Justin Ryan Foreman, Luke Dominic Foreman, Cole Mitchell Foreman and Blake Rogers Duvall.

Mary Trumps

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home for Mary Ann Wheaton Trumps, 73, who died Sunday, September 24, 2017 at her residence in Crowley.
Brother Gerard Morgan will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours be held Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to the time of service. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Romona Credeur and her husband, Ricky of Mire, LA, and Linda Duplechain and her fiance, Troy Broussard of Crowley; one son, Charles Ray Wheaton and his wife, Dee of Crowley; two brothers, Carl Wheaton of Houston, TX, and Johnny Stevens and his wife Noralee of Kinder, LA; four granddaughters, Amiee Wheaton and her fiancé Buddy of Crowley, Amanda Snow and her husband, Chris of Denham Springs, LA, Valerie Kibodeaux and her husband, Percy of Crowley, and Bridget Benoit of Lafayette, LA; two grandsons, David Wheaton of Crowley, and Christopher Brandson Sullivan and his fiancé, Shelly Hollier of Scott, LA; six great-granddaughters, Kelsey Wheaton, Madison Simpson, Chloe Kibodeaux, Emma Kibodeaux, Payton Snow, and Kinsley Milson; and four great grandsons, Hunter Simpson, Noah Snow, Jaxson Parker Sullivan, and Carter Milson.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Audie and Nedric Stevens Wheaton; two sisters, Betty Abshire, and Bonnie Smith; and three brothers, George Wheaton, Thomas Wheaton, and Audie Wheaton, Jr.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Marrisa, Courtney, Sonia, Pattie, and the staff of Lamm Hospice that cared for Ms. Trumps.

Irvin Leon Akers Jr.

A celebration of life with family and friends will be held at a later date honoring the life of Irvin Leon Akers Jr., 77, who died Friday, September 22, 2017 at his residence.
Toby was born May 17, 1940 in Egan to Irvin Leon Akers, Sr. and Alice Duhon. He also loved his step mother Helen Roberts.
Toby enjoyed many activities and interests including old cars, estate sales and auctions, ancestry research, Civil War history and old TV shows.
He was a U. S. Army veteran, a former member of the Abbeville Jaycees and a current member of the American Legion Post 29.
He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him. At his request, no public services will be held.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Cart Akers; sons, Brandon Gaston Akers and his wife Sandra, Kenneth Wayne Akers and his wife Angie and Kevin Michael Akers and his wife Angie; two step brothers, Walter “Blackie” Trahan and his wife Wylene and Paul Russell and his wife Lisa; sister-in-law, Carmen Bergeron; five loving grandchildren, Ian, Ireland, Kory, Cydney and Alyssa; and four beautiful great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin Leon Akers, Jr. and the former Alice Duhon; step mother, Helen Roberts; two step brothers, Robert Trahan and Hensley Bergeron; and half sister, Gladys Raintree.
