Mary Lee Meche Melancon

RAYNE - Funeral services for Mary Lee Meche Melancon, 85, of Rayne will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel, Rayne. Deacon Tommy Adams will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery No. 2, Rayne.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home, Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.

Mrs. Melancon passed away on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017 in a Rayne health care facility.

A longtime resident of Rayne, Mrs. Melancon was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Ladies' Rosary Group. She was active in the community as a member of Acadia Home Extension Club, Rayne Hobby Club, and Rayne Garden Club. A devoted wife, loving mother, and doting grandmother, Mrs. Melancon's greatest joy was caring for and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, C.J. Melancon of Rayne; sons, Tim Melancon and wife, Nina of Lafayette, and Shannon Melancon of Lafayette; brother Hilman Meche and wife Verline of Rayne; grandchildren, Timi Clair Wadleigh and husband, Kristian of Lafayette, and Timothy "Ty" Melancon, Jr. of Baton Rouge; and great-grandchild, Kristian Clair Wadleigh of Lafayette.

Preceding Mrs. Melancon in death were her parents, Leodis Meche and Tolise Mire Meche; sister, Geraldine DeJean; and brother, Lennes Meche.

Serving as pallbearers are Ty Melancon, Kristian Wadleigh, Kevin Meche, Chad DeJean, Kevin Broussard, and Blaine Meche.

Mary Annette Mier Comeaux

RAYNE - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Annette Mier Comeaux, 76, of Rayne will be celebrated on Monday, September 11, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rayne. Father Christopher Cambre will serve as celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery No. 2 Mausoleum, Rayne.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept. 10, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home, Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, Sept. 11, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. in the funeral home.

Mrs. Comeaux passed away on Thursday, Sept. 7, at 10:08 p.m. in a Lafayette hospital.

A native of Rayne, Mrs. Comeaux was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She worked as a legal secretary for several judges over the years, including Judge Denny Beslin, Judge Arceneaux, Judge Aaron, Judge Kaliste Saloom, and others. Mrs. Comeaux was an auditor and Vice President at Rayne State Bank for many years.

Mrs. Comeaux enjoyed traveling, visiting with friends, crocheting, and was an excellent seamstress. Her greatest joy in life was caring for her family.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years. Charles Peter Comeaux of Rayne; sons, Charles Jude Comeaux and wife, Tara of Rayne, John Robert Comeaux and wife, Jill of Rayne, Joel Peter Comeaux and wife, Donna of Branch, Jason Todd Comeaux and wife, Akiko of Uruma, Okinawa, Japan, Jeremy Blake Comeaux and wife, Marisa Wolf of Houston, TX, and Jody Blaine Comeaux of San Diego, CA; sister, Betty Mier Airhart and husband, Danny of Youngsville; brother, Louis Mier, Jr. and wife, Kathleen of Zachary; grandchildren, Damon Comeaux, Blaire Stelly and husband, Brock, Mitchell Hebert, Kerrie Comeaux, Krystian Comeaux, Jordan Comeaux, Brianna Comeaux, Cady Comeaux, Christopher Comeaux, Lane Comeaux, Mikalyn Comeaux, Ian Comeaux, Brian Comeaux, Kevin Comeaux, Ethan Comeaux, and Malyn Comeaux; great-grandchildren, Brylinn Stelly, Brooklyn Stelly, Braxtynn Stelly, Blakelyn Stelly, Bethlyn Stelly, and Briggstyn Stelly; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Preceding Mrs. Comeaux in death were her parents, Louis Mier, Sr. and Harriet Schexnider Mier; and sister, Mercedes Mier Treloar.

Serving as pallbearers are Charles Jude Comeaux, John Robert Comeaux, Joel Peter Comeaux, Jason Todd Comeaux, Jeremy Blake Comeaux, Jody Blaine Comeaux, Damon Comeaux, and Lane Comeaux.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Wayne A. Richard, 45, who passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 6:15 p.m.. in Crowley.
Fr. Clint Trahan, Pastor of The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morse will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 10 a.m. until time of services all in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. Deacon Tom Sommers will recite a rosary on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 6 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva T. Richard of Morse; two sons, Wayne A. Richard, II and Wade A. Richard both of Morse; his mother, Yolande S. Richard of Crowley; four sisters, Susan Richard of Crowley, Vanessa and husband, Danny Domingue of Kaplan, Christine and husband, Max Uriegas of Crowley and Kassandra and husband, Thomas Morgan of Lyons Point; one brother, John A. and wife, Celeste Richard of Crowley; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers for the service will be T-Wayne, Jordan, John-John, Boo, Dog, Ray, Dennis and Moose. Honorary Pallbearers for the service will be Wade, John and TJ.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Joseph “Uncle Joe” Richard; his paternal grandfather, Louis Richard; his maternal grandfather, Lover Seaux; his maternal grandmother, Orelia Lantier; his mother-in-law, Patricia Touchet.

Dalton Richard

Dalton was born on November 20, 1947 to Louis Richard and Ida Broussard Richard. He was called to his Heavenly Father on September 4, 2017. Dalton worked as a carpenter. He loved visiting with all his family and friends. Dalton was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dalton is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryle Pousson Richard of Morse; his daughter, Yvette Richard Rowell (Bryan) of Lafayette; his grandson Evan Rowell of Lafayette; his brother, Raymond Richard (Lisa) of Morse; his sister, Helen Wiltz (Jim).
Dalton was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Ida Broussard Richard; his son, Everett John Richard; three brothers.
Funeral Services for Dalton Richard, 69 of Morse will be held on September 8, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings. A gathering of family and friends will be held beginning on September 7 at 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on September 8th at 8:00 AM and continue until the time of his Service. Dalton will be laid to rest in Abshire Cemetery.
