Rayne Police seeking information on four local fugitives
The Rayne Police Department has released photos and information on four individuals wanted on various outstanding warrants.
• Sonny Dore, 27, is wanted on a warrant for vehicle burglary that occurred on Feb. 14 in the 200 block of Edgewood Drive.
Dore is 5 feet, 11 inches tall. His last known address is 800 Delord St., Lafayette.
•Claire Doucet, 30, is wanted for two counts of unauthroized use of an access card. Doucet allegedly used a debit card taken from a vehicle on Feb. 14 in the 200 block of Edgewood Drive.
Doucet is 5 feet, 4 inches tall. Her last known address is 101 Sills Drive, Rayne.
• Quinton Paul Marshall, 36, is wantged for stalking.
Marshall is 5 feet, 9 inches tall. his last known address is 409 Yvonne St., St. Martinville.
• Jansen Rabon, 19, is wanted in connection with a residential burglary that occurred on Oct. 26, 2016, in the 900 block of Hilda Street in Rayne.
Rabon is 5 feet, 4 inches tall. His last known address is 303 Auburn Drive, Carencro.

Brenda Marie Albarado Lavergne
RAYNE - Funeral services for Brenda Marie Albarado Lavergne, 73, were held on Wednesday, March 15, at 11 a.m. in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne.
Entombment followed in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery No. 2 Mausoleum in Rayne.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 14, from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home and continued on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
Mrs. Lavergne passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017, in a Crowley hospital.
A native of Assumption Parish, Mrs. Lavergne lived in White Castle for many years prior to living in Jennings, Duson, and Rayne. She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Lavergne retired after 25 years service as a librarian with Lafayette Consolidated Government.
Mrs. Lavergne enjoyed reading and crafting, but her greatest joy in life was caring for and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of over 38 years, Claude Lavergne of Scott; daughter, Juanita Gomez of White Castle; sons, Andrew Gomez Jr. of White Castle, Laurent Lavergne and wife Wendy of Rayne, and Nathan Lavergne and wife Jessica of Scott; step-daughters, Roena Esthay and husband Darryl of Jennings, Charlotte LeBlanc of Mobile, Alabama, and Claudia Fruge and husband Mike of Jennings; step-sons, Owen Lavergne and wife Connie of Jennings, and Clinton Lavergne of Jennings; sister, Betty Giroir of Bell River; step-daughter-in-law, Renee Lavergne of Elton; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one grandchild on the way; and three godchildren.
Preceding Mrs. Lavergne in death were her parents, Clement and Emma Charlet Albarado; step-son, Carl Lavergne; sister, Marina Boudreaux; and one grandchild.

Susan Jane Robinson
RAYNE - Funeral services for Susan Jane Robinson, 64, were held on Sunday, March 12, at 2 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel, Rayne.
Interment followed in Arceneaux Cemetery in Rayne.
Visitation was Sunday from 8 a.m. until service time in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Robinson passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017, in her Rayne residence.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Wilbur Ray Robinson of Rayne; daughters, Bridget Simon and husband Joey Simon Sr. of Church Point, Crystal Cormier of Crowley and Sherry Robinson of Rayne; son, Buddy Robinson of Rayne; sister, Mary Ann Malek of Alvin, Texas; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceding Mrs. Robinson in death were her parents, Horace and Carolyn Easton Gage.

Shelton E. Launey
Shelton E. Launey, age 80, a native of Iota and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017.
Shelton was a devoted husband, father, grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a dedicated parishioner of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church and a long time employee of Shell Oil Company. Shelton was a skilled woodworker, using primarily old growth cypress and enjoyed gardening and golf.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Zaunbrecher Launey; his daughter, Donna Launey and husband Patrick Tester; his sons, David Launey and wife Ghada Launey, Jeff Launey, Daren Launey and wife Kristina Launey; his grandchildren, Aynsley Eggen, Garrett Eggen, Amalia Eggen, Jad Launey and Sasha Launey; and his sisters, Juanita Schneider and Patty Wager.
Shelton is preceded in death by his parents, John William Launey and Agnes Watson Launey; and his siblings, Glaris Istre, Laura Davidson, Willa Rawls and Lilla O’Fiel.
Visitation will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 9105 Highland Rd., Baton Rouge, on Tuesday, March 14, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. George Catholic Church Cemetery, 7808 St. George Dr., Baton Rouge.
