Judy Mott Schexnayder
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, Estherwood for Judy Mott Schexnayder, 91, who died, Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, at 6:22 a.m.
Fr. Clint Trahan will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 6 p.m. by Deacon Tom Sommers. Burial will be in the Estherwood Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Schexnayder is survived by one son, Matthew Schexnayder and wife Michelle of Midland; two grandchildren, Sidney M. Schexnayder and wife Kadi of Iota and Mary Schexnayder of Midland; two great-grandchildren, Trenton M. Schexnayder of Iota and Makayliee E. Schexnayder of Midland; and two sisters-in-law, Genevieve Motte of Ardoin Cove and Edith Mott of Roanoke.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney M. Schexnayder; one infant daughter, Sharon Schexnayder; her parents, Ornice and Mary Bellard Mott; three sisters, Lessie Dardo, Birdie Derouen and Joyce Blanchard; and two brothers, Etienne and Burley Mott.

Louby Paul Faulk Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Louby Paul Faulk Jr., 71, who died Monday morning in Crowley at Southwind Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by family and friends.
Fr. Mikel Polson, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will be officiating for the services with Fr. Jude Thierry, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota, con-celebrating. The family is requesting visiting to be held at Geesey Ferguson in Crowley Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. A Rosary will be led by Fr. Jude Thierry at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in Branch at the St. Edmund Cemetery.
Mr. Faulk, known to many as “Skipper or Papa Louby”, first began his career serving his country in the United States Army after being drafted from January 1966 to December 1967. He was a Private E-1 and received a National Defense Service Medal. He was an engine airplane repairman and sharp shooter while being stationed in Germany. After an honorary discharge from serving during the Vietnam War, he returned to his hometown of Crowley.
He attended McNeese University as well as Southwest Louisiana Vocational Technical studying business administration. After a brief stint as an insurance reclamation specialist, he then went to work for Dore Rice Mill where he worked in the office and operated their first computer system. Because this was the first computer of its kind, he received special training directly from IBM. After 12 years with Dore Rice, he then went to work for Entex/Centerpoint Energy where he spent 20 plus years as a clerk from which he retired.
Mr. Faulk loved to cook, fish, and be with friends and family. He was a public auctioneer for over 30 years helping many charitable organizations raise money. He was a key volunteer for the refurbishment of the City of Crowley’s Rice Theater and took pride in seeing that through. He was also an usher for St. Michael’s Catholic Church, past member of the Knights of Columbus 1318, and current 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus 6959 in Egan. In both KC Councils, he was always heavily involved and served as an officer of both. Mr. Faulk spent countless hours volunteering for anybody who needed help and had a special love for the International Rice Festival as a member. He was able to attend this years’ festival to be with his old friends.
He is survived by, three children, Paul L. Faulk and his wife Glenda “Kay” Rachal Faulk of Eunice, Blane M. Faulk and wife Brittany Billeaud Faulk of Crowley and Sherry Danette Faulk Howerton and husband Steven Howerton of Meaux; his brother, Jimmy Faulk and his wife Gale of High Springs, Florida; and seven grandchildren, Christopher Pridgeon, Hunter Wagers, Justin Wagers, Mackenzie Faulk, Skye Wagers, Kadence Faulk and Joshua Faulk.
Louby was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Melancon Faulk, who passed away in 2006; and his parents, Louby and Caroline Salter Faulk Sr.
Pallbearers will be Robby Barousse, Nathan Melancon, Nathan Cormier, Mackenzie Faulk, Hunter Wagers and Joseph Desormeaux. Honorary Pallbearers will include Jimmy Faulk, Justin Wagers, Joshua Faulk, Randy Falcon, Steven Howerton, Teddy Seaton, Robert Gaspard and Ray Vincent.

Gail Vincent Abshire
Gail Vincent Abshire, 71, passed away surrounded by her family on Oct. 27, 2016, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lee Abshire of Crowley; one son, Jackie Abshire and his wife Mary of Crowley; five grandchildren, Cody Abshire, Chantell Abshire, Amy Abshire, Caroline Abshire and Ty Abshire; seven great-grandchildren, Logan, Kristin, Kaylee, Audrey, Wyatt, Madelyn and Sophia; and four siblings, Nookie LeBlanc, Donald LeBlanc, Delores Labbe and Joe Vincent.
Mrs. Abshire is preceded in death by one daughter, Lynn Abshire; her parents, Wilfred and Eula Trahan Vincent; and one brother, Roderick “Boddy” LeBlanc.

McNeely’s rites set
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at First United Methodist Church in Crowley for Thomas L. “Bo” McNeely Jr., M.D., who departed this life on his 90th birthday, on Oct. 26, 2016, in Crowley. Officiating for the services will be Rev. Lewis Morris.
The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
He was born in Colfax, to Thomas Ludlow McNeely Sr., and Dewey Olympia LaCroix McNeely. Dr. McNeely graduated from Colfax High School in 1942, and at the age of 15, entered Louisiana State University earning his Bachelor of Science degree in 1946, with a one-year stint at Loyola Dental School. He completed his LSU Medical School doctorate in 1950. Internship was served at Naval Medical Center San Diego. His residency was at Huey P. Long Charity Hospital in Pineville, and in Elizabeth, .
He began his military service in 1945 as a Corpsman at Naval Lakefront Hospital in New Orleans, tending sick and wounded servicemen. McNeely served in the United States Navy and the Marine Corps in Corpus Christi, San Diego, Hawaii and Japan, for a total of 10 years, through the Korean War.
He began his practice in Crowley in 1955 and served the Crowley community area for the next 60 years. He and Dorothy Broussard married in 1957, and together they had four children, Thomas III (Lisa Vondenstein), Elizabeth (Stan Gall), Kathleen (Jim Sherwood) and Susan (Tom Pistorius); 10 grandchildren, Elea McNeely Doughty and Ben McNeely, Ian and Ted Gall, Anna Gall Lantz, Samantha Sherwood Morris, David Sherwood and Rachel, Madeline and Lillian Pistorius; and three great-grandchildren.
Dr. McNeely is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Broussard McNeely; his parents, Thomas and Dewey LaCroix McNeely Sr.; and one sister, Frances M. Bowers.
His civic and academic affiliations include Acadia Parish Medical Society, Louisiana Medical Society, American Academy of Family Physicians and the Southern Medical Association. He was a past assistant coroner and acting coroner for Acadia Parish, on the American Legion Hospital Staff and past president thereof. He served two terms on the Crowley City Council, as Alderman-at-Large and was Mayor Pro-Tempore. He was a volunteer physician for Hospice of Acadiana in his retirement years. He was an active member of Rotary International, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6720 and American Legion Post 15.
He was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, serving in many capacities. He was honored to have been named Humanitarian of the Year in 2013 by the Crowley Chamber of Commerce.
An Eagle Scout, McNeely was an avid outdoorsman, sportsman and conservationist, supporting such organizations as Boy Scouts of America, Ducks Unlimited and Coastal Conservation Association. He was an active alumnus and supporter of his alma mater, LSU, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dr. McNeely’s grandsons Ian Gall, Ted Gall, Ben McNeely and David Sherwood, along with his sons-in-law Stan Gall, Jim Sherwood and Tom Pistorius.
The extended McNeely family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Caroyln DeVeaux for her compassion and dedication to Doc’s care and appreciation to Dr. Robert Aertker and Hospice Compassus.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to First United Methodist Church or Boy Scouts of America Evangeline Council.

Ethel L. LeJeune
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Ethel L. LeJeune, 85, who passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at 8 a.m. at the Eunice Manor Nursing Home in Eunice.
Deacon Byrne Winn will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in the Old Crowley Cemetery in Crowley.
The family requested the visitation be held Thursday, Oct. 27, at noon until 10 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. A Rosary was recited at 6 o’clock in the evening on Thursday in the Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. Visitation will resume on Friday, Oct. 28, at 8 a.m. until time of services all in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley.
Survivors include two sons, Paul and wife Russell “Rose” Marx of Eunice and Sammy and wife Charlene Ruffino of Shepherd, Texas; two granddaughters, Paula Marx of Eunice and Angela and husband Willie Johnson of Eunice; and six great-grandchildren.
Ms. LeJeune was preceded in death by her husband, Jay LeJeune; her parents, Eldridge and Cloma Leleu Laughlin; and several brothers and sisters.
